Sentinel is proud to have one of the most experienced offender management teams in the industry. Our management staff has more than 100 combined years experience in electronic monitoring and offender management. Other Sentinel advantages include:
- Privately Held - We are independently owned. We do not have any shareholders.
- Original President/Founder - Sentinel's original owner and founder, Mr. Robert Contestabile, remains the CEO and president, ensuring that our full-service, offender supervision company vision continues.
- Original Management Team - Our senior management team has been with Sentinel practically since inception. This translates into providing our customers with the most experienced personnel to service and meet required program goals.
The following management team members strive to meet our customers' daily program needs through their individual responsibilities.
Bob Contestabile, Founder and President
After a 25-year successful career in the security system arena, Bob entered the electronic monitoring business in 1991 as the president of Wackenhut Monitoring Services, a company which he later purchased and renamed Sentinel. In 1992, with only four employees, Bob has guided Sentinel to a level of more than 350 employees and positioned Sentinel as the only privately held firm among the three largest in the industry.
Primarily focusing on offender-funded electronic monitoring programs and misdemeanant probation, Sentinel has served more than 500,000 offenders throughout the years and is among the leaders in the GPS offender tracking field. Bob has been instrumental in developing our patented approach to voice contact through Sentinel's TrakMate GPS handsets. It gives officers a matchless advantage in managing real-time offender activity.
Bob is active in all of Sentinel's daily management and is the most senior executive in the industry.
Mark Contestabile, Vice President Eastern Operations
Mark oversees all east coast operations, including our industry-leading court services programs that monitor more than 30,000 offenders daily. Programs under his supervision collect substantial amounts of fines and fees on behalf of victims and court circuits. This has led to Sentinel collecting and delivering millions of dollars to our customers that would have gone uncollected. He is also responsible for our electronic monitoring and GPS tracking programs throughout the eastern region.
