- Original Management Team - Our senior management team has been with Sentinel practically since inception. This translates into providing our customers with the most experienced personnel to service and meet required program goals.
The following management team members strive to meet our customers' daily program needs through their individual responsibilities.
Bob Contestabile, Founder and President
After a 25-year successful career in the security system arena, Bob entered the electronic monitoring business in 1991 as the president of Wackenhut Monitoring Services, a company which he later purchased and renamed Sentinel. In 1992, with only four employees, Bob has guided Sentinel to a level of more than 350 employees and positioned Sentinel as the only privately held firm among the three largest in the industry.
Primarily focusing on offender-funded electronic monitoring programs and misdemeanant probation, Sentinel has served more than 500,000 offenders throughout the years and is among the leaders in the GPS offender tracking field. Bob has been instrumental in developing our patented approach to voice contact through Sentinel's TrakMate GPS handsets. It gives officers a matchless advantage in managing real-time offender activity.
Bob is active in all of Sentinel's daily management and is the most senior executive in the industry.
Mark Contestabile, Chief Business Development Officer
Mark oversees all east coast operations, including our industry-leading court services programs that monitor more than 30,000 offenders daily. Programs under his supervision collect substantial amounts of fines and fees on behalf of victims and court circuits. This has led to Sentinel collecting and delivering millions of dollars to our customers that would have gone uncollected. He is also responsible for our electronic monitoring and GPS tracking programs throughout the eastern region.
Alan Velasquez, Vice President Offender Services
Alan is responsible for the daily western regional programs operations. Along with electronic monitoring and GPS tracking services, he oversees some of the largest offender-funded programs in the nation. These programs have provided full service case management and monitoring to populations in excess of 2,000 daily offenders, all at NO COST to the department or correctional agency. We have taken this offender-funded program nationwide with great success.
Steve Queen, Vice President of Georgia Operations
Steve is a long-time industry veteran and is responsible for field operations throughout the state of Georgia. His knowledge of our court services and probationer services programs is key in their on-going success. Steve oversees a management staff that is responsible for more than 200 Sentinel employees and 30 offices serving 100-plus jurisdictions throughout the state of Georgia.
Tim Lewis, Vice President of Georgia Operations
Tim has a wealth of industry experience. He has extensive experience with Georgia courts, where he served as a probation officer for nearly eight years that included investigating violations and reporting results to the courts. He has directed a staff of more than 50 employees that supervised more than 35,000 active offenders and delivered probation services to more than 20 field offices, 90 courts and 100 judges.
Julie Hunt, Human Resources Director
Julie is an original member of the founding Sentinel team and ensures that our employee workforce receives the utmost in company support and direction. She is also responsible for ensuring that we continuously meet or exceed personnel requirements mandated by our contracts with correctional agencies nationwide. Julie works closely with all field management personnel to facilitate hiring and retaining the most qualified candidates.
