Warrant Recovery
Our research indicates that agencies may have millions of dollars in unserved warrant related fees, due to logistical limitations. Our warrant recovery program handles this matter for the agency. Based on the nature of the warrant, the court may request that Sentinel refer the offender back to court for follow up proceedings or allow Sentinel to handle warrant processing, with mandatory electronic monitoring or other supervision sanctions, instead of jail time.
Our warrant recovery program is comprised of the following steps:
  • Local Support: Our local staff works with the court circuits to determine outstanding warrants. Using traditional resources and modern processes, we attempt to contact the offender at the most current address or contact site.
  • Continuous Contact Efforts: Once contact has been made, the offender is instructed to report to court, or if permitted by the judge, to report to the Sentinel field office for processing. If electronic monitoring is required, our case managers enroll the offender in one of Sentinel's monitoring program.
  • Court Notification: Sentinel staff provides weekly reports to the court of all located offenders who have been instructed to report to court. A similar report is provided to the court listing all offenders that had been approved for electronic monitoring, based on the court's approved selection criteria.
  • Collection of Fees: Any monies owed to the court as part of the warrant could be collected by Sentinel staff and forwarded to the court. Our SenTrak database was designed with this automated feature for easy and efficient fee collection and processing.
  • No Cost to the Court: Using the offender-funded program model, this program can be provided at no cost to the court, with all fees being paid by the offenders. If the offender is authorized to be placed on electronic monitoring as part of his warrant clearing process, the offender would be responsible for all monitoring fees, which Sentinel would collect directly from the offender.

Sentinel Advantage

  • Reduction in Outstanding Warrants: Our program allows agencies to utilize Sentinel as a resource in tracking and closing unserved warrants.
  • Locate and Collect Money: By utilizing our warrant recovery program, an agency can expect Sentinel to locate and collect monies that would have gone uncollected.
  • Restitution to Victims: If any restitution is owed to a victim, any money collected from the offender can be prioritized so that the victim fairly receives the entitled compensation. Our company processes payments directly to the victims involved. Our staff focuses solely on resolving warranties that have not been served.
